    Abstract

    ABSTRACT Bernita Syahbuanawati Dwi Putri. K4312010. ENHANCING OF CRITICAL AND CREATIVE THINKING SKILL THROUGH IMPLEMENTATION OF MODEL SCIENCE, ENVIRONMENT, TECHNOLOGY, AND SCIENCE (SETS). Thesis, Surakarta: Teacher Training and Education Faculty. Sebelas Maret University, October 2016. The research was aimed to enhance critical and creative thinking skill through implementation of implementation of model Science, Environment, Technology, and Science (SETS) at grade XM1 Senior High School of PPMI Assalaam Sukoharjo academic year 2015/2016. This research was a Classroom Action Research that performed within 2 cycles. Each cycle consisted of 4 steps; there are planning, action, observation, and reflection. Research subject was student at grade XM1 Senior High School of PPMI Assalaam which contain 33 persons. Data were obtained from students and teacher by using critical and creative test, observation, test, interview, and documentation. The data were validated by triangulation method and analyzed by qualitative descriptive technique. The result showed that student’s critical and creative skills were increased from cycle I and cycle II. Critical skill aspects which increased were interpretation from 20,45% to 42,97%, analyse from 19,7% to 40,63%, evaluation from 20,45% to 42,19%, inference from 21,97 to 43,75%, explanation from 19,7% to 41,41%, dan self-reflection from 22,73% to 43,75%. Creative skill aspects which increased were fluency from 19,7% to 42,19%, flexibility from 20,45% to 41,41%, originality from 18,18% to 39,84%, dan elaboration from 21,21% to 41,41%. From the research, conclusion is student’s critical and creative thinking skill can be enhanced by using the implementation of model Science, Environment, Technology, and Science (SETS). Every aspect of critical and creative thingking can enhance untill 20% from base line in the cycle II of the research. Key words: critical thinking, creative thinking, SETS learning model
