      Abstract

      BAYU KURNIAWAN. NIM. S861502007. SOCIAL STUDIES LEARNING MODEL BASED ON THE VALUE SIMBOLISM OF SONGKET CLOTH TO IMPROVE STUDENT SOCIAL SOLIDARITY IN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL NUMBER 6 KAYUAGUNG. Sebelas Maret University. Surakarta ABSTRACT This development research is aimed to: (1) Describe social studies learning model process in Junior High School Number 6 Kayuagung, (2) Describe the development social studies learning model based on the value simbolism of Songket Cloth to improve student social solidarity, (3) Describe the effectiveness of social studies learning model based on the value simbolism of Songket Cloth to improve student social solidarity. Research and development is based on the concept that was created by the Borg and Gall. The instrument used to collect data through observation, interviews, questionnaires and test achievement. The method used in this study includes a preliminary study, the development of learning models, and test the effectiveness of the model. Analysis of the data using a scale Lingkert feasibility of this model with a 5 of range while testing the effectiveness of the model using T test. Based on the results of preliminary studies, more teachers use lectures, so learning more centered on the teacher (teacher centered).The level of social solidarity is still classified as debilited. Student tend to mock each other if associated with differences among them. Most students are great learners also still exist that do not understand about the values symbolism of Songket Cloth. However, the limitations and the difficulty of sources about the value symbolism of this constraint Cloth Songket being for teachers to develop a culture-based learning model. As for these steps are divided into several stages, among others, introduction, core and cover.Validation from expert judgement used as consideration to complete the model developed before tried out step .Validation model test results obtained value is 4,44 ( good ) , validation lesson plans obtained value is 3,82 ( good ) , validation matter obtained value is 4,00 ( good ) and validation of questions is 4,72 ( good ) . In test t obtained value 3,789 with significance 0,000 & lt; 0,025 , it means is the a significant impact on the model developed .While test t for the judgment of attitude of social solidarity with the economic situation of 2,360 significance much as 0.021 & lt; 0,025 , so that rerata before and sesusah treatment class experiment not at .Thus learning model social class developed effective to improve their performance and attitude of social solidarity of school tuition .
