    Abstract

    ABSTRACT Puji Tri Ariska. K4212055. CORRELATION BETWEEN JAVA SCRIPT MASTERY AND WRITING MOTIVATION WITH THE SKILLS TO WRITE SIMPLE PARAGRAPH IN JAVA SCRIPT AT STUDENT OF GRADE VII OF SMP NEGERI 6 SURAKARTA. Skripsi, Surakarta : Teacher Training and Education Faculty Sebelas Maret University, Agustus 2016. The research aimed to know the correlation between: (1) Java script mastery and the skills to write simple paragraph in Java script, (2) writing motivation and the skills to write simple paragraph in Java script, and (3) Java script mastery and writing motivation with the skills to write simple paragraph in Java script. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 6 Surakarta. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 6 Surakarta, January to June 2016. The research method used was a correlation survey. The population of research was all student of grade VII of SMP Negeri 6 Surakarta. The sample consisted of 64 people (25% of the population) taken by simple random sampling. Instrument to collecting data used was java letter a simple paragraph writing skills test, Java script mastery test and writing motivation questionmaire. Data analysis techniques used are the statistical technique of regression an correlation (simple, multiple). The result of analysis showed that: (1) there was a positive correlation between Java script mastery and the skills to write simple paragraph in Java script (ry1 = 0,32 at the level of significance α = 0,05 with N = 64, rt = 0,246, and t1 = 2,81 > tt = 1,669), (2) there was a positive correlation between writing motivation and the skills to write simple paragraph in Java script (ry2 = 0,29 at the level of significance α = 0,05 with N = 64, rt= 0,246, and t1 = 2,49 > tt = 1,669); (3) there was a positive correlation between Java script mastery and writing motivation together with java letter a simple paragraph writing skills (ry12 = 0,42 at the level of significance α = 0,05 with N = 64, rt = 0,246, and F0= 6,61 > Ft = 3,15). Considering the result of research, it could be concluded that Java script mastery and writing motivation simultaneously give significance contribution (of 41%) in the skills to write simple paragraph in Java script. It show that two variables can be a good predicator for java letter a simple paragraph writing skills.
