IMPLEMENTING OF SBL (SIMULATION BASED LABORATORY ON PROBLEM BASED LEARNING MODEL TO IMPROVE STUDENT’S COGNITIVE ASPECT AND STUDENT’S LEARNING ACTIVITIES AT X-10 CLASS OF SMA NEGERI 3 SUKOHARJO ON DYNAMIC ELECTRICAL SUBJECT MATTER. Thesis, Surakarta: Teacher Training and Education Faculty. Universitas Sebelas Maret, July 2016. The aims of this research are to improve students’: (1) Cognitive aspect and (2) Student’s learning activities. This research is a classroom action research with Kurt Lewin and collaborative models which are implemented in two cycles. Each cycle is initiated by the preparation phase and followed by the implementation phase that consists of planning, action, observation, evaluation, and reflection. The subject of this research was the students of X-10 class of SMA Negeri 3 Sukoharjo in the Academic Year 2013/2014 consisting of 34 students on dynamic electrical subject matter. The data are obtained through observation, interview with teacher, cognitive tests, questionnaires and document reviews. The data analysing technique used was qualitative techniques supported by quantitative data. Based on the results, it can be concluded that: (1) cogmitive aspect of students in X-10 class of SMA N 3 Sukoharjo Academic Year 2013/2014 on dynamic electrical subject matter can be improved through the application of SBL media on problem based learning. It can be seen from the results of physics cognitive tests pre-cycle, the first cycle and the second cycle of physic cognitive tests. In the pre-cycle mastery learning students is 50%, which was later increased to 62% in the first cycle and 76% in the second cycle. To set the target physics cognitive aspect is learning completeness students by 76% where the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) in physics lessons is 75. (2) learning activites aspect of students in X-10 class of SMA Negeri 3 Sukoharjo Academic Year 2013/2014 on dynamic electrical subject matter can be improved through the application of SBL media on problem based learning model. It can be seen from the observation of student creativity in pre-cycle, the first cycle and second cycle. In the pre-cycle the overall average rate of 22% of student’s learning activities which was later increased to 64% in the first cycle and 76% in the second cycle in which the target set is the learning activities of students by 75 %.
