    Abstract

THE APPLICATION OF DEMONSTRATION METHOD TO IMPROVMENT LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT BATIK ART CULTURE SUBJECT AT CLASS X IIS 2 OF SMA NEGERI 5 SURAKARTA ACADEMIC YEAR 2015/2016. Thesis, Surakarta: Teacher Treaning and Aducation Faculty, Sebelas Maret University, 2016. The purpose of this research is to improve students study result of learning batik works in class X IIS 2 SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta using demonstrations method. This research is a classaction with the subject of this study are students of class X IIS 2 SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta academic year 2015/2016, totally 27 students. The source of research data came frome the teacher and students. This reseacrh used interviewing, observation, and document as data collecting technique. For the data validity this research used triangulation method. This reseacrh used comparative-descriptive analysis and critical analysis for the data analysis. This reseacrh showed the improvement of students study result of learning batik works using demonstrations method from pre-cycle to the first cycle and from the first cycle to the second cycle. The achievement of improvement based on indicators of success, namely: 1) interest and involoment of the student in making batik works in the pre-cycle as much as 66,66% students completed, increase in cycle I to 85,18% student completed and in cycle II increase to 96,29% students completed; 2) harmony desaign (sketch) made students with teacher presented in the pre-cycle as much as 70,37% students completed, increase in cycle I to 92,59% students completed and in cylce II increase to 100% students completed; 3) Batik work of student in first pre-cycle as much as 48,14% students completed, increase in cycle I to 66,66% students completed and in cycle II increase to 92,59% students completed Based on the result of research it can be concluded that application of demonstration method to improve learning study result art subjects batik material culture in class X IIS 2 SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta academic year 2015/2016.
