    Abstract

    ABSTRACT ANALYZING THE INFLUENCE OF AIRSPACE LAYER TO SOUND ABSORPTION COEFFICIENT ON PARTITION WALLS USING IMPEDANCE TUBE METHOD WITH TWO MICROPHONE by Kentut Sriwigiyatno Measurement of sound absorption coefficient at sample of partition walls system by impedance tube method using two microphone has been conducted. By using this method has done measurement some sample of partition walls system without airspaces layers and of samples with addition of airspaces, it also conducted by thick variation of perforated plate materials ( acrylic and alumunium) and analysed its influence to sound absorption coefficient value. At perforated plate materials is also conducted by variation of hole diameter ( hole). Acoustic absorption coefficient is the main parameter to be estimated in this research. Computer simulation using WinFLAGTM program was done to calculate the acoustic absorption coefficients. Simulation indicated that perforated plate and airspaces could increase the acoustic absorption coefficient. All simulation results obtained are based on diffused sound incidence situation. With the sound absorption coefficient hence we earn to know how much frequency range of the samples can be developed as multi-layer of wall or insulator of room able to make comfortable room.
