    Abstract

    ABSTRACT Post Hole Auger is a machine to ease the manufacture of biopori holes with a hole diameter of 10cm and a length of 85 cm. This machine has an efficient advantage over other auger machines, and more effective than the manual way. The reasons for making this machine is to increase the interest of the people to make biopori by simplifying the process, in order to reduce the likelihood of flooding. The results of a post hole auger machine design is the efficient transmission system design of the post hole auger machine. This post hole auger machine is changes the gasoline motor rotation from 6000 rpm to 150 rpm, using a worm gear reducer with the ratio of 1:40. When the rpm decrease at the same power, the torque will increase. The shaft used is 30 mm diameter shaft with material of ST 37. This post hole auger machine design requires power from 1.2 HP petrol engine. The post hole auger machine is capable of drilling into a depth of 80 cm, and diameter of 10.3 cm.
