    Abstract

    ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF HOTPRESS TEMPERATURE TO MECHANICS STRENGTH OF CANTULA/rHDPE COMPOSITE Kurniawan Indra Purnama Mechanical Engineering Department Sebelas Maret University Surakarta In manufacture process of cantala fiber recycled high density polyethilene (rHDPE) composite with hot press. Temperature hot press is one of the factors that determine the quality of composite. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of temperatureof hot press on mechanical properties of cantala fiber/rHDPE composite. The composite made of rHDPE as a matrix and cantala fiber as reinforcement . the temperature of hot press were varied 150°C, 160°C, 170°C and 180°C. As the resuts, the highest bending strength was obtained for 35,07 MPa, impact strength was obtained for 23,854 kg/m2 and tensie strength was obtained for 35,78 MPa were reachd at temperature hot press 150°C.
