    Abstract

PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS DESKRIPSI MELALUI STRATEGI DWA (DIRECTED WRITING ACTIVITY) PADA SISWA KELAS IV SDN I GEDONG, NGADIROJO, WONOGIRI TAHUN AJARAN 2015/2016. Skripsi, Surakarta: Fakultas Keguruan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta. Juli 2016. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis deskripsi dengan strategi DWA (Directed Writing Activity) pada siswa kelas IV SDN I Gedong, Ngadirojo, Wonogiri Tahun Ajaran 2015/2016. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah guru dan siswa kelas IV SDN I Gedong. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah informan, tempat dan peristiwa, serta dokumen. Teknik pengumpulan data dilaksanakan dengan observasi, wawancara, tes, dan kajian dokumen. Uji validitas data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik deskriptif komparatif dan teknik analisis kritis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tindakan kelas di atas menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan keterampilan menulis deskripsi melalui penerapan strategi DWA (Directed Writing Activity) pada siswa kelas IV SDN I Gedong, Ngadirojo, Wonogiri Tahun Ajaran 2015/2016. Peningkatan keterampilan menulis deskripsi dapat dilihat dari hasil tes menulis deskripsi pada pratindakan, siklus I, dan siklus II. Ketuntasan klasikal nilai menulis deskripsi pada pratindakan sebesar 27,5% atau 11 siswa tuntas, pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 52,5% atau sebanyak 21 siswa tuntas, dan pada siklus II menjadi 82,5% atau 33 siswa tuntas. Dengan demikian, penerapan strategi DWA (Directed Writing Activity) dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis deskripsi pada siswa kelas IV SDN I Gedong, Ngadirojo, Wonogiri Tahun Ajaran 2015/2016. The objective of this research is to investigate the improvement of descriptive writing skill by using DWA (Directed Writing Activity) strategy on the students at grade IV of State Elementary School I of Gedong, Ngadirojo, Wonogiri in academic year of 2015/2016 This research was classroom action research that had been done in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages which were planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research were teacher and students at grade IV of State Elementary School I of Gedong. Source of data which were used by the researcher were informant, place and event, and also document. The data was collected by using observation, interview, test, and document analysis. This research used triangulation source and triangulation technique as data validation test. The data of this research was analyzed by using comparative desriptive technique and critical analysis technique. This classroom action research showed the improvement of descriptive writing skill by using DWA (Directed Writing Activity) strategy on the students at grade IV of State Elementary School I of Gedong, Ngadirojo, Wonogiri in Academic Year of 2015/2016. The improvement of descriptive writing skill could be seen from the descriptive writing test result on the pre-action, cycle I, and cycle II. Classical completeness score of descriptive writing on the pre-action was 27,5% or 11 students passed, on the cycle I, it increased to 52,5% or 21 students passed, and on the cycle II became 82,5% or 33 students passed. Thus, the implementation of DWA (Directed Writing Activity) strategy could be used to improve the descriptive writing skill on the students at grade IV of State Elementary School I of Gedong, Ngadirojo, Wonogiri in the Academic Year of 2015/2016.
