    Abstract

    David Pratama. MATHEMATICS MODULE DEVELOPMENT FOR PROBLEM BASED LEARNING ON THE TOPIC OF DISCUSSION OF SET FOR GRADE VII OF JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL. Thesis, Mathematics Education Teacher Training and Education Faculty Sebelas Maret University. March 2016. This research is aimed to produce problem based Mathematics module at basic material of set for grade seventh of Junior Secondary School. This research is also done to identify the suitability of the produced module based on the aspect of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This is a developmental research. The product being developed is problem based Mathematics module at basic material of of set for grade seventh of Junior Secondary School. This developmental research follows the Four-D model which consists of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stage. To describe the process of developing the module, documenting is done to retrieve data in the form of record of the process of developing module start from the Define stage to the Disseminate stage. To get a valid product of module development, questionnaire is constructed at the expert validation phase from the Develop stage in order to retrieve data in the form of module validity score along with comment and suggestion for revising the module. To identify whether or not the module is practical to be used in learning process, questionnaire is constructed to retrieve data in the form of the students’ response toward the module. To identify whether or not the module is effective to be used in learning process, test of students’ achievement and interview are held to retrieve the data in the form of the teacher’s statements about the module. The result of the research shows that the quality of the product is good seen from the validity with the value of the mean score is 3.28. The practicality is good related to the mean score of the questionnaire which is 3.28. The product is also effective to be used as the result of the test shows that the passing grade percentage is 83.33 %.
