    Abstract

    The aims of this research were to know: (1) which one gives better mathematics achievement, PBL, DL, or direct learning; (2) which one has better mathematics achievement, students who have climbers, campers, or quitters adversity quotient; (3) for each learning model, which one has better mathematics achievement, students who have climbers, campers, or quitters adversity quotient; (4) For each category of adversity quotient, which one gives better mathematics achievement, PBL, DL or direct learning. The type of the research was a quasi experimental research with the factorial design of 3 x 3. The population were all seventh grade students of Islamic Junior High School in Madiun regency academic year of 2015/2016. The samples of the reserch were taken by using the stratified cluster random sampling technique. The samples of the reserch consisted of students of MTsN Sidorejo, MTsN Kembang Sawit, and MTsN Doho. The data of the research were gathered through multiple choice test of learning achievement and questionnaire of AQ. The data was analyzed using two-ways analysis of with unequal cell frequencies at the significance level 0.05. Anava test is used by double comparatives test with scheffe method. The conclusions were as follows. (1) PBL and DL give same mathematics achievement, DL gives better mathematics achievement than direct learning, PBL and direct learning give same mathematics achievement. (2) Students with climbers AQ and campers AQ have same mathematics achievements, Students with campers AQ and quitters AQ have same mathematics achievements, while students with climbers AQ have better mathematics achievements than students with quitters AQ. (3) For each AQ shows, students with PBL and DL give same mathematics achievement, students with DL give better mathematics achievement than direct learning, students with PBL and direct learning give same mathematics achievement. (4) For each learning model shows that, students with climbers AQ have same mathematics achievement than students with campers AQ. Students with campers AQ have same mathematics achievement than students with quitters AQ. Students mathematics achievement with climbers AQ are better than students with quitters AQ.
