    Abstract

    Fiber optic sensor technique in this study aims to characterize the typical absorption in tea (Camellia sinensis). Sensing zone on the fiber optic sensor that is part of the cladding removed. Optical fiber sensors based on evanescent absorption in the sample solution tea extraction results in the sensing zone with method of modulating the intensity and wavelength. Fiber optic sensor in this study indicates a linear relationship between the concentration by absorbance evanescent field. The sensors also indicates a high sensitivity that is characterized by a gradient from linearity as evanescent wave absorption most of the variation wavelength light source is used. Evanescent wave absorption is affected by the concentration of a solution and the wavelength of the light source. Absorbance at the absorption area will be even greater because a lot of light emitted from the sensing zone, so opportunity the solution is absorbed greater. The greater the concentration, the greater the absorbance. Results of a typical absorption evanescent green tea at a wavelength of 652.80 nm, while black tea 491,30±2,02 nm and 652.80 nm.
