    Abstract

ABSTRACT Tiara Nuraini, R0212049, 2016. Correlation of Repetitive Motion on Hand with Lamentation of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome on Book Printing Workers at PT. Putra Nugraha Triyagan, Sukoharjo, Study Program Diploma 4 Occupational Safety and Health, Medical Faculty, Sebelas Maret University Background : Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is health disturbance that often meet on Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) group. One cause of complaints Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is less ergonomic posture at hand while working as repetitive movements of the hands, flexion, biomechanical pressure and movement combinations of all three. This research have a purpose to know the correlation of repetitive motion on hand with lamentation of carpal tunnel syndrome on book printing workers at PT. Putra Nugraha Triyagan, Sukoharjo. Methods : This reasearch is an analitycal survey research with cross sectional design. The sampling technique used a simple random sampling. The population is all the printing workers in PT. Putra Nugraha has numbered 108 people and retrieved samples 45 people. This research used a stopwatch to count the repetitive motion on hand and questionnaire to count the lamentation of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. The data analysis technique used the statistical test Person Correlation. Tabulation of data did with SPSS 18.0 software. Result : The research result from 45 respondent with Pearson Correlation test show that there is a significant correlation with r value = 0.900; p value = 0,000 with correlation direction value + (positive) and correlation strength is very strong between both variables. Conclusion : There is a significant correlation between repetitive motion on hand and carpal tunnel syndrome lamentation. Keyword: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Repetitive Motion on Hand
