THE ROLE OF PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM AND CULTURAL CITY OF YOGYAKARTA IN INCREASING THE NUMBER OF TOURISTS IN THE CITY OF YOGYAKARTA. Public relations. Social and Political Science Faculty. Sebelas Maret University. The reason I choose the department of tourism and cultural city of Yogyakarta as an apprenticeship place because I am interested in tourist activities there. Studying public relations department of tourism activities through the website and I think the departmen of tourism and cultural city of yogyakarta fits into the place of my internship. Address in Jl. Suroto No 11 Gondokusuman, Yogyakarta city. Department of tourism and cultural city of Yogyakarta has a form of cultural heritage buildings protected by the government of the city of Yogyakarta. I took the title of “The role of the public relations department of tourism and cultural city of yogyakarta in increasing the number of tourist in the city of Yogyakarta”. As for the considerations i took the title because they are attracted to lift the official public relations activities are roaming the tourist village tour, my engage in those activities that have a role as the court reporter of which will be used as news and documentation. The activity is expected to increase the number of tourist in Yogyakarta. So the tourist dont get bored just visiting the attractions that already exist as well as the new tourist attractions. Tourist taken for a walk arround the village to see directly the lives of creative community in Yogyakarta which there are centers of batik or shirt Jogja, craft bag, gamelan music and the sinden which increases the attractiveness in this tourist village. Beside other official public relations activities, is to foster the PR hotels and tour guides to be clever in giving education to travel to the tourist. The effort is expected to run in accordance with the expectations of the government in improving the rating also increase local revenue.
