    Abstract

    THE EFFECT OF BIODIESEL ADDING INTO DIESEL FUEL AND FUEL HEATING THROUGH RADIAL FINNED PIPE IN THE RADIATOR UPPER TANK TOWARD TORQUE AND POWER OF MITSUBISHI L300 CAR. Thesis, Surakarta: Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Sebelas Maret University Surakarta, August 2016. The purposes of this reasearch are to investigate: (1) The effect of biodiesel adding into diesel fuel toward torque of Mitsubishi L300 car. (2) The effect of biodiesel adding into diesel fuel toward power of Mitsubishi L300 car. (3) the effect of heating fuel through radial finned pipe in the radiator upper tank towards torque of Mitsubishi L300 car. (4) the effect of heating fuel through radial finned pipe in the radiator upper tank towards power of Mitsubishi L300 car. (5) The effect of biodiesel adding into diesel fuel and heating fuel through radial finned pipe in the radiator upper tank towards torque of Mitsubishi L300 car. (6) The effect of biodiesel adding into diesel fuel and heating fuel through radial finned pipe in the radiator upper tank towards power of Mitsubishi L300 car. This research used experimental method, with sampling purposive technique. Data analysis technique used descriptive. Sample testing in research a Mitsubishi L300 car and test tools used dynotest 1200 AWD. Variations fuel mixture of diesel with biodiesel content of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30%. Variation of radial finned with fin spacing of 30 mm, 20 mm and 10 mm. Results of this research can be seen as follows: (1) There is an effect of biodesel adding into diesel fuel toward torque of Mitsubishi L300 car. The highest torque obtained at 30% fuel mixture. (2) There is an effect of biodesel adding into diesel fuel toward power of Mitsubishi L300 car. The highest power obtained at 30% fuel mixture. (3) There is an effect of heating fuel through radial finned pipe in the radiator upper tank toward torque of Mitsubishi L300 car. The highest torque obtained in using radiator with 20 mm radial finned pipe. (4) There is an effect of heating fuel through radial finned pipe in the radiator upper tank toward power of Mitsubishi L300 car. The highest power obtained in using radiator with 20 mm radial finned pipe. (5) There is an effect biodiesel adding into diesel fuel and heating fuel through radial finned pipe in the radiator upper tank towards torque of Mitsubishi L300 car. The highest torque obtained at the 20% of biodiesel addition into diesel fuel with using radiator 10 mm radial finned pipe. (6) There is an effect biodiesel adding into diesel fuel and heating fuel through radial finned pipe in the radiator upper tank towards power of Mitsubishi L300 car. The highest power obtained at the 20% of biodiesel addition into diesel fuel with using radiator 20 mm radial finned pipe.
