    Abstract

    The objective of the research were to study the influence of IBA concentration and medium on the growth of jarak pagar stem. The research was carried out in the Gunungpati Village, Gunungpati, Semarang City from October 2007 to December 2007. The experimental design was completely Randomised Design with factorial design with 16 treatments in three replications. The first factor consisted of medium which were : Bull Manure, Goat Manure, Chicken Manure, Water Hyacinth Compose. The second factor consisted of IBA concentration 0 ppm, 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 150 ppm. The parameter observed were the time of bud appear, the bud length, percentage of rooted cuttings, number of roots, root length, number of leaves, the leaves width, chlorophyl content, the weight of fresh biomass, and the weight of dry biomass. The data from the observation was analysed by anova with the significantly 5% and 1%, if there was significantly difference among the treatment, it was continued analysed by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) on 5% and 1%. The results of the result showed that IBA concentration provided positively influence to the growth of jarak pagar stem. IBA concentration 100 ppm gave the highest of dry biomass (as much as 24,616 g), increased 78,600% compared to without IBA treatment as much as 13,783 g.
