    Abstract

    The research goal is improving the quality of science instructional in elementary school with guided inquiry and develop scientific work attitude. Specifically, the research goal to improve mastery of science concept and growth student autonomy attutide to do work through guided inquiry of science approach to V grade student of elementary school. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) with research design implementation in three cycle and each cycle is consists of four steps, there are planning step, action step, observation step, and reflection step. Research is conducted in SDN 2 and SDN 5 Mataram West Nusa Tenggara and the subjecs of research are V grade elementary school in both of elementary school, with total student 70. Data collections were implemented by observation, interview, test and documentation. Data analysis were done by quality and quantity. Quality analysis is use to describe observation data result and interviewed during action research, and quantity analysis is used describe mastery of science concept grade capability and scientific work. The result of research is showing that classroom action research can improve mastery of science concept and skill to implement scientific work. Based on result of observation and reflection with class teacher. Guided inquiry approach using tool and proper material can improve the achievement V grade elementary school student in SDN 2 and SDN 5 Mataram. It was shown by improving cognition average school grade result in each cycle ( I cycle 5,90, II cycle 7,29, III cycle 7,67). It also happened with scientific work have a share in improving avarage school grade result, I cycle 7,55, II cycle 7,77, III cycle 8,00. Student autonomy study attitude aspect is obtained by description 24 % (17 student) having low autonomy grade, 57 % (40 student) having average outonomy grade, and 19 % (13 student) having high autonomy grade. The conclusion of this research is guided inquiry approach by using proper media can improve mastery of scince concept and improve scientific work capability in SDN 2 and SDN 5 Mataram. Student autonomy can be improved through correct guided inquiry.
