    Abstract

    ABSTRACT Septian Fajar Dwi Prabowo (K5411058). APPLICATION OF CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING TO IMPROVE QUALITY PROCESS AND GEOGRAPHY LEARNING OUTCOMES (Basic Competencies Analyzing The Environmental Protection in Relation to National Development in class XI IPS 2 MAN 02 Surakarta School Year 2014 / 2015). Thesis, Surakarta : Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Sebelas Maret University, December 2015. The purpose of the study was 1) To knowing increase the quality of the learning process geography in XI IPS 2 MAN 2 Surakarta through the application contextual teaching and learning. 2) To knowing increase Geography learning outcomes in XI IPS 2 MAN 02 Surakarta school of year 2014/2015 Surakarta through the application contextual teaching and learning. The type of the research is the Classroom Action Research (CAR), used qualitative description. The subjects of research was the XI IPS 2 graders of MAN 2 Surakarta consisting of 26 students. The data collected by observation, interview, questionnair, and extended test. The application of contextual teaching and learning model has improved the quality of the learning process and geography learning outcomes (Basic Competencies Analyzing The Environmental Protection In Relation to National Development In XI IPS 2 MAN 02 Surakarta School Year 2014 / 2015). In general it can be proved that the quality of the learning process prasiklus condition until the second cycle increased, scores in the first cycle was 1.65 or means 41.25% of students who qualify, it indicates that the quality of teaching in the first cycle in the category "quality of the learning process less" , then score at the second cycle was 2.92 or 72.92% can be interpreted qualified students, showed that an increase and has been included in the category of "good quality of the learning process", while in the second cycle skora dalah 3.33 or can be interpreted that 83.33% of students are eligible, and therefore the quality of the learning process in this second cycle has been declared in the category "excellent quality of the learning process". Based on the evaluation of the test results of students in the learning process in cycle I and II, it showed an increase in the percentage of completeness of student learning outcomes is the pre-cycle condition percentage is only 34.62% increase in cycle II with a percentage of 57.69% in the second cycle to 76, 92% in other words the action on the first cycle and the second cycle, it will increase the percentage of students learning completeness of 42.30%, which means it has reached the target of research success.
