EFFECTIVENESS OF LEARNING CYCLE 5E MODEL AND PROBLEM BASED INSTRUCTION LEARNING MODEL TOWARDS STUDENTS ACTIVITY AND CREATIVE THINKING ABILITY OF CLASS VII JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL 1 PONCOWARNO KEBUMEN REGENCY IN ACADEMIC YEAR OF 2014/2015 (Basic Competencies Describing Population Patterns Economic Activity, Landuse and Settlement Patterns Based on Physical condition of the Earth`s surface). Thesis. Surakarta. Faculty of Teaching and Eduaction Knowledge. March 2016. This research is intended to find 1) differences in student’s activity and creative thinking ability among application of Learning Cycle 5E Model, Problem Based Instruction Learning Model, and Conventional Learning Model, 2) effectiveness between Learning Cycle 5E Model and Convensional Learning Model towards student’s activity and creative thinking ability,3) effectiveness between Problem Based Instruction Learning Model and Conventional Learning Model towards student’s activity and creative thinking ability, and 4) effectiveness between Learning Cycle 5E Model and Problem Based Instruction Learning Model towards student’s activity and creative thinking ability of Class VII Junior High School 1 Poncowarno in academic year of 2014/2015. Type of this reasearch is Quasi Experiment using Posttest Only with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populations of this research are the whole students of Class VII Junior High School 1 Poncowarno in academic year of 2014/2015. This research is using Cluster Sampling. Data collecting techniques are using observation and test. Data analysis is using Two Way Anava and Post- Anava test with Scheffe’ method. Based on data analysis, the result are as follow: 1) there are differences in student’s activity and creative thinking ability among the applications of Learning Cycle 5E Model, Problem Based Instruction Model, and Conventional Learning Model, 2) Learning Cycle 5E Model is more effective towards student’s score activity and creative thinking ability compared to Convensional Learning Model, 3) Problem Based Instruction Learning Model is more effective towards student’s score activity and creative thinking ability compared to Convensional Learning Model, and 4) Learning Cycle 5E Model is more effective than Problem Based Instruction Model but that effectiveness Learning Cycle 5E Model is not significant towards student’s score activity and creative thinking ability in Class VII Junior High School 1 Poncowarno Kebumen regency in academic year of 2014/2015.
