    Abstract

    soft-magnetic is very important material in daily life. Soft-magnetic is widely used in electronic devices such as on the electric motor, air conditioner, refrigerator, television, electric fan, etc. The high demand of soft-magnetic materials in the market make soft-magnetic is not fulfilled. Soft-magnetic composite (SMC-s) of iron powder is one solution. SMC-s process was began with the manufacture of the iron powder using a milling machine and ball-milling machines, until produced iron powder with a mesh size of the powder 100. Further calsinated at a temperature of 600°C for 1 hour was performed. The iron powders was mixed with binder epoxy resin and epoxy hardener then compacted with a pressure of 4 ton, 5 ton, and 6 ton for 1 hour, then testing VSM (Vibrating Sample Magnetometer) was conducted to determine magnetic properties. The result of VSM test and data processing, obtained hysteresis curve show that with increasing compacting pressure the value of remanence and permeability increase, and coercivity decrease. SMC-s then compacted with a pressure 6 ton is the most optimal compacted pressure, which has a magnetic field of: Br = 0,041 Tesla, Hc = -6,28 kA/m, and µ = 2,37 Wb/Am.
