    Abstract

    ABSTRACT Endra Dwi Cahya. THE STUDENT TEAMS-ACHIEVEMENT DIVISIONS (STAD) TYPE OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING APPLICATION TO IMPROVE PENCAK SILAT LEARNING OUTCOME IN THE 11TH IPA 1 GRADERS OF SMA ISLAM 1 SURAKARTA IN THE SCHOOL YEAR OF 2015/2016. Thesis. Surakarta: Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Surakarta Sebelas Maret University, March 2016. The objective of research was to improve the pencak silat learning outcome through Student Teams-Achievement Divisions (STAD) type of cooperative learning in the 11th IPA 1 graders of SMA Islam 1 Surakarta in the school year of 2015/2016. This study was a Classroom Action Research (CAR). This study was conducted in two cycles, each of which consisted of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subject of research was the 11th IPA 1 graders of SMA Islam 1 Surakarta consisting of 22 students: 10 boys and 12 girls. The data source derived from teachers, students, and author. Techniques of collecting data used were observation, assessment and documentation or archive. Data validation was carried out using data triangulation technique. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive technique based on qualitative analysis with percentage. From the result of analysis, it could be found the improvement of pencak silat learning from pre-cycle to cycle I and from cycle I to cycle II, outcome in cycle I in which out of 22 students, 14 (63.64%) students had belonged to passing criteria and in cycle II this figure increased to 19 (86.35%) students, while other 3 (13,65%) students had not passed successfully with KKM (minimum passing criteria) of 2.67. The conclusion of research was that Student Teams-Achievement Divisions (STAD) type of cooperative learning application could improve the pencak silat learning outcome in the 11th IPA 1 graders of SMA Islam 1 Surakarta in the school year of 2015/2016.
