    Abstract

    Wilis Witasari (K5411068) IMPLEMENTATION OF PEER INSTRUCTION APPROACH TO IMPROVE CRITICAL THINKING AND LEARNING OUTCOMES OF CLASS X MIA 4 SMA NEGERI 6 SURAKARTA ACADEMIC YEAR 2014/2015 (Matter in Knowledge the interaction of human and environmental dynamics in hydrosphere). Thesis, Teacher and Training Education Faculty. Sebelas Maret University. November 2015. The purpose of this research are (1) to improve the critical thinking of learners through the implementation of peer instruction in class X MIA 4 SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta academic year 2014/2015 (approach in the interaction of human and environmental dynamics in hydrosphere), and (2) to improve the learning outcomes of geography through the implementation of learning geography peer instruction in class X MIA 4 SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta academic year 2014/2015 (approach in the interaction of human and environmental dynamics in hydrosphere). The method used is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research was conducted in two cycles and each cycle consisting of 4 stages, including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 1 Class X MIA 4 SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta academic year 2014/2015. The data collect of this research are the interviews, tests, observation and questionnaires. Data analyzed using technique triangulation. The results of this research are (1) the implementation of the method of peer instruction approach empirically proven to improve the critical thinking students of class X MIA 4 SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta academic year 2014/2015 in the second cycle, and (2) the implementation of the method of peer instruction approach empirically proven to improve learning outcomes geography class X MIA 4 SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta 2014/2015 academic year on the second cycle.
