    Abstract

    Marjoko. POTENT AND IMPROVEMENT ANALYSIS OF UMBUL INGAS WATER RESORT IN TULUNG, KLATEN RESIDENCE IN 2008. Thesis. Surakarta. Teacher Training Faculty, Sebelas Maret University Surakarta, March 2010. This research is aimed to know the Ingas water resort power as the destination of a tour and to know the improvement efforts of the resort. This research is done in Umbul Ingas water resort. The method used in this research is qualitative by descriptive of geographical research, using main data and secondary data. The technique of collecting the data used by field observation, interview and documentation study. The main data used in this research are the interests’ data of the resort, the accessibility data of the resort, the main infrastructure data of the resort, and the supporting infrastructure data of the resort. The data, then, is analyzed to know the power of Umbul Ingas water resort as the destination of a tour and to know the improvement efforts of the resort as a destination of a tour. The results of the research are as follows: 1. Umbul Ingas water resort has medium potent class. This can be defined that not all the characteristics and the potent in Umbul Ingas water resort are the supporting factor in improvements efforts of the resort, but there are any other factors that slow down the improvement. The factors that slow down the improvement must be reduced and even innovation must be done in order that the tourists are interested to visit the Umbul Ingas water resort. 2. It is necessary to do many efforts to improve Umbul Ingas water resort. There are many aspects that should be done to improve it; the infrastructure, the space arrangement, the attractions, the accessibility, the superior products and the marketing.
