    Abstract

    This study took place in Bengawan Solo nature school located in the village of Gondangsari, sub Juwiring, Klaten regency, Central Java. This school is a school of nature that stands in the settlement. This year, Bengawan Solo nature school has five levels from grade one to grade five. This study aims to understand the role that should be and that its learners in Bengawan Solo nature school in growing critical thinking skills in learners. Additionally this study aims to understand the development of the students through the conscientientizaco process. The theory which used in this study is consciousness theory by Paulo Freire. This study is a case study. Data collection techniques in this research through observation, interviews, literature study and documentation study. The samples are taken using purposive sampling. For the validity of the data used triangulation techniques, such as triangulation of sources, triangulation of techniques, triangulation of time. For the data analysis technique used data analysis technique interactive model. The result from the aforementioned research concludes that Bengawan Solo Nature School encourages critical thinking to the students through the means of problem-facing and dialogue during the daily learning programs. Therefore Bengawan Solo Nature School student’s character and logic are increasingly developed, as seen in the above result.
