    Abstract

    ABSTRACT Traffic intersections often resulting a long queues and delays, especially at main roads. It also affected to existing pavement, especially at area around intersection. Beside dynamic loading, pavement also receive static loading due to queues and delays. The loading resulting plastic deformation on pavement, and the road service load become shorter. So, it is necessary to obtain solutions reducing traffic queues and delays, so it can reduce the influence to asphalt pavement. The study apllied to Mertex intersections By Pass Road Mojokerto, with analitical modelling calculation according MKJI 1997. The modelling is to reroute turn right and straight traffic from minor road. With this condition, the existing signal intersection can be operated become unsignalled intersection, so the mayor road (North and South) more fast. From the model, will be carried out intersection performance, service life existing pavement, and road rehabilitation plan. The result will be compared to existing intersection without traffic rerouting. Based on MKJI 1997, with traffic rerouting, Delays decreasing at north way 69,13% (21.929,55 to 6.770,48 sec./hour) and south way 71,29% (17.963,03 to 5.157,27 sec./hour). Queues decreasing at north way 89,19% (149,89 to 16,20 meter) and south way 89,95% (144,71 to 14,55 meter). Based SPDM 3.0 analysis, traffic rerouting increase remaining service life at north way at segment 0-200 meter 797,85% (0,05 to 0,47 year), and segment 200-400 meter 203,93% (0,39 to 1,19 year). At south way, the increase of remaining service life at segment 200- 400 meter 110% (0,38 to 0,79 year). Traffic rerouting can reduce maximum thickness design at north way, segment 0-200 meter, with overlay method 46,8% (31,4 to 16,7 cm with probability of 95%), dan reconstruction method 42,2% (25,8 to 14,9 cm with probability of 95%). Overlay structure modelling in mertex intersection with probability 50% and 85%, are more stiff than reconstruction modelling. But in probability 95%, reconstruction structure modelling is more stiff than overlay modelling. Keyword : intersection, traffic rerouting, performance, service life, road rehabilitation plan.
