    Abstract

    Bariqul Amalia Nisa. K2311011. Remediation of Teaching Physics Using the Implementation of PBL Model to Achieve the Students’ Cognitive Aspects on the Topic of Elasticity in Class X SMAN 8 Surakarta. Essay. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Sebelas Maret University. November 2015. The aim of research to improve cognitive abilities of students to achieve mastery of cognitive aspects in the subject matter of the Elasticity by implementation remediation of learning physics using problem based learning model. This research is a pre-experimental research using pre-test and post-test group design. The subjects of the research were 24 students of class X Science 4 SMAN 8 Surakarta in the academic year of 2014/2015. The datas were collected by using document review, observation, and pre-test and post-test. The datas were analized by using the technique of paired t-test with a significance level of 5 %. Based on the data analysis and discussion in this research, it could be concluded that remediation of physics learning by using problem based learning model could improve students’ cognitive abilities from 12.50 % to 87.50 %. It can also be seen from the initial test result obtained by the average value of 2.10 and the average value of the final test is 3.14. From the analysis of data using paired t-test showed that at a significance level of 5 %, tcount > ttable = 12.910 >1.714. Keywords: Remediation, Problem Based Learning, Cognitive, Elasticity
