    Abstract

    ABSTRACT Brigitta Armeina Putri Andyantari. USING TEAMS GAMES TOURNAMENT METHOD WITH SNAKES AND LADDERS ON SUBJECT ISLAMIC PALACES IN INDONESIA MATERIAL TO IMPROVE MOTIVATION AND PERFORMANCE OF LEARNING OF X IIS 2 CLASS OF NEGERI 6 SURAKARTA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT AT 2014/2015 ACADEMIC YEAR. Thesis, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Sebelas Maret University. December 2015. The aim of this research is to improve motivation and performance of learning of X IIS 2 class, Negeri 6 Surakarta high school student at 2014/2015 academic year by using TGT model with snakes and ladders on subject Islamic palaces in Indonesia material. The kind of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which uses 2 cycles and each of them consists of planning, realization, observation and reflection. The subjects of this research are students, teachers and teaching and learning process in X IIS 2 class Negeri 6 Surakarta high school. The data and data sources are obtained from students, teachers and teaching and learning process. The technique that are used to obtain the data are by conducting interview, observation, questionnaire and test. Triangulation method is used in validating the data of this research. The data are analyzed by using comparative and descriptive technique, while the analysis procedure is spiral model. Result of this research shows: (1) the use of TGT method with snakes and ladders media on Islamic Palaces in Indonesia material can improve motivation of X IIS 2 class Negeri 6 Surakarta high school students at 2014/2015 academic year. It can be seen from the result percentage of indicator achievement on the questionnaire about learning motivation. The first cycle shows 78,40% and it increases to 82,42% in second cycle. The result passed the achievement target, that is 80%, (2) the use of TGT model with snakes and ladders media on subject Islamic Palaces in Indonesia material can improve the learning process of X IIS 2 class Negeri 6 Surakarta high school students at 2014/2015 academic year. This condition can be seen from the complete research of cognitive test. In the first cycle, the result is on 69,70% and it increases to 87,88% in second cycle. This percentage has passed the achievement target that is 80%. From the result of this research, it can be concluded that the use of TGT model with snakes and ladders media on Islamic palaces in Indonesia material can improve the motivation and performance of learning of X IIS 2 class Negeri 6 Surakarta high school students at 2014/2015 academic year.
