    Abstract

    ABSTRACT Dimas Dwi Yunianto, D0211030, DISCRAPANCY AND THE GRATIFICATION LEVEL OF RADIO LISTENER ( Based on Quantitative Descriptive between The Use of Radio as a communication media in Desta & Gina In The Morning Radio Program on Prambors and Sriwedari on Solo Radio against The Satisfaction Level among Communication Science Students of UNS in 2012-2013), Undergraduate Thesis, Major in Communication Science, Faculty of Social Science and Political Science, University of Sebelas Maret Surakarta, November 2015. Radio is an electronic mass media which deliver its messages using audio media or voice. Now, Radio has become a cheap and affordable mass media for everybody in whole areas. Not exception in Solo. Among radio stations in Solo, there are two famous radio stations in the young people. They are Solo Radio and Prambors Solo. To get many listener, everyday, both of them compete to make an interesting radio program started from the morning. They are Sriwedari from Solo radio and Desta & Gina In the Morning from Prambors. The purpose of this research to knowing between Gratification Sought/GS and Gratification Obtained/GO for listener among Communication Science Students of UNS in 2012-2013 after listening radio program Sriwedari and Desta & Gina In the Morning. The research adopted Uses And Gratification approach and survey method. Data in this research obtained by spreading questionnaire to respondens. And then the data coded and interpreted. Furthermore, data gaps obtained by calculating using palmgreen’s gap formula. That gap formula operationalized by tabulation which the items in GS crossed with the items from GO. At the end, both of radio station between Solo Radio and Prambors Solo have made the listeners felt satisfied. The result of satisfaction number from discrepancy formula of Palmgreen is Solo radio got 74,7 % while Prambors got 85,1%. Those numbers are included in high level of satisfaction which is from 67% to 100%. The numbers proof that Prambors gave more stratification than Solo Radio.
