Abstract
Fuel (BBM) because it comes from increasingly depleted natural resources are nonrenewable and consumption continues to increase as the rate of economic growth and population growth. According to data from the central statistical agency in 2011 oil production in Indonesia as many as 238.957 million barrels while public consumption as much as 850 601 351 barrels. According to the Minister Jero Wacik, predicted in 2015 the amount of fuel imports will increase by about 70% -80% of the domestic demand. Bioethanol can be used as an alternative energy crisis amid oil shortages and high prices of LPG gas. Therefore made energy innovations will be presented in a paper titled Bioethanol Gel Rice Aking (BIOGEL NAKING) as a Sustainable Alternative Energy in the Domestic Sector. The purpose of this paper to make bioethanol gel of parched rice as an environmentally friendly alternative energy in the household sector with experimental research methods through several stages of acid hydrolysis followed fermentation, distillation and manufacture of gel, determine the optimum time of fermentation to produce bioethanol from parched rice, and knowing long burning time of bioethanol gel produced. The study was conducted in August-October, 2013, at the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry and Chemistry Education FKIP UNS test phase using GC analysis results in the UNS Central Chemical Lab. The conclusion of this study showed that the parched rice can be used as raw material in the manufacture of bioethanol gel with ethanol content of 92.54%, the optimum fermentation time is 96 hours with a volume of 17.5 mL, the final result as much as 20 gram and one gram of BIOGEL NAKING flammable for 82.8 seconds with a blue flame is unstable. Bioethanol gel burns longer than liquid bioethanol. Keywords: Bioethanol gel, Parched rice, Distillation, Fermentation, Acid hydrolysis
