    Abstract

    The objects of this research are to reveal the legal protection granted by Undang – Undang Nomor 8 tahun 1999 tentang Perlindungan Konsumen to laundry consumer in Laundry Koem – Koem Kota Surakarta and legal issues that exist in the context of legal protection based Undang – Undang Nomor 8 tahun 1999 tentang Perlindungan Konsumen in Laundry Koem – Koem Kota Surakarta. This research is on empiric law research. The research is conducted in Laundry Koem – Koem Kota Surakarta. Research carried out on 1 laundry businesses and consumer laundry 3. Data collection is carried out through field study and literatur study to collect both primary data and secondary data. The analysis is carried out by using descriptive qualitative. Results of this research can be presented that the legal protection granted by Undang – Undang Nomor 8 tahun 1999 tentang Perlindungan Konsumen Laundry service user of Laundry Koem – Koem for individual consumers less. This was caused by businesses and consumers who lack an understanding of the rights and its obligations that should be done. Then the role of the government is lacking in doing counseling regarding consumer protection has also resulted in the lack of legal protection granted by Undang – Undang Nomor 8 tahun 1999 tentang Perlindungan Konsumen to consumer Laundry Koem – Koem Kota Surakarta. Legal issues that exist in the context of legal protection based Undang – Undang Nomor 8 Tahun 1999 tentang Perlindungan Konsumen in Laundry Koem – Koem Kota Surakarta is still less understood its businesses and consumers about the obligations that should be done, and the rights that must be obtained, and the responsibility of businesses is lacking, as well as efforts to completion of disputes that do not deliver results.
