    Abstract

    The purpose of the research is to understand on the system the payment of export behavior by the association PT Rakabu Furniture in the activities of export. Company uses the payment system with a letter of credit (L/C). Through research was expected to be identified the advantages and weakness of the system a payment that is applied by PT Rakabu Furniture. The research method uses are descriptive qualitative is the method that describe how the use of a letter of credit at all the data used in writing this is the primary and secondary. Data collected through a live interview with PT Rakabu Furniture, meanwhile, based on data obtained from secondary reference book with the relevant research and various sources. Based on research results can be concluded that the use of a letter of credit in PT Rakabu Furniture with the use of irrevocable sight because of a letter of credit considered the safest way for the company and have the risk is little if the kind of using L/C. The suggestions can be given to PT Rakabu Furniture by the writer in the payment system using a letter of credit, the company should take into account with detailed expenses incurred in the use of L/C so as not experienced a loss in the care of the problem of export documents especially financial document. Especially L/C is expected to more carefully , then need to be of supervision or control over and over and select those professionals in the field.
