    Abstract

    Layinatul Muarifah. SPEAKING SKILLS IMPROVEMENT EFFORTS THROUGH THE USE OF MEDIA PHOTOGRAPH IN A GROUP OF CHILDREN TKIT TAZKIYA KIDS NGRAMPAL SRAGEN IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2014/2015. Thesis, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Sebelas Maret University of Surakarta. July 2015. The purpose of this research is to improve speaking skills through the use of media photograph in A group of children TKIT Tazkiya Kids Ngrampal Sragen in the academic year 2014/2015. This research was classroom action research. It was conducted for two cycles, each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subject of the research were children at group A TKIT Tazkiya Kids Ngrampal Sragen, that consisted of 15 children. The source of data was derived from informants namely A2 grade teacher and the principals of TKIT Tazkiya Kids, learning activities to improve speaking skills using media photograph, video footage of speaking skills learning activities of children, and school documents namely the semester program (Promes), plan daily activities (RKH), and data child books. Data collecting technique was observation, interviews, performance test and documentation. The data validity using source triangulation and methods triangulation. The data analysis using interactive model analysis by Miles and Huberman, which has four components, namely data collection, data reduction, data display, and preparation of conclusions/verification. The result of the research shows that there is an improvement of speaking skills by applying the media photograph from pre-cycle to cycle I and from cycle I to cycle II. The percentage of thoroughness in pre-cycle is 20%. At the first meeting of the cycle I increased to 47%. At the second meeting of cycle I increased to 60%. At the first meeting of the cycle II increased to 73%. At the second meeting of the cycle II increased to 87%. The conclusion of this research is that the media photograph can improve speaking skills of children in group A2 TKIT Kids Tazkiya Ngrampal Sragen in the academic year 2014/2015.
