    Abstract

    ABSTRACT Aan Nur Cahyo. C0111001. 2015.Internal Conflict of Bintoro Character in Serial Story Janji Kali Code Isih Mili by Ki Cantrik Code (A Literary Psychological Study).Skripsi: Literature of Department Cultural Science Faculty of Sebelas Maret University Surakarta. The object of the research was literary work in the form of serial story entitled Janji Kali Code Isih Mili by Ki Cantrik Code. The problem statements discussed in this research were as follows. Firstly, what structural analysis did build serial story entitled Janji Kali Code Isih Mili by Ki Cantrik Code based on Robert Stanton’s theory. Secondly, how was personality aspect of Bintoro character according to Carl Gustav Jung. Thirdly, how is internal conflict Bintoro character experienced in serial story entitled Janji Kali Code Isih Mili by Ki Cantrik Code. Theoretical foundation in this research was divided into three. Firstly, structural analysis building the serial story entitled Janji Kali Code Isih Mili based on Robert Stanton’s theory. Secondly, personality analysis theory of Bintoro character based on Carl Gustav Jung’s personality theory. Thirdly, analysis of internal conflict experienced by the main character, Bintoro. Firstly, structurally, the serial story entitled Janji Kali Code Isih Mili showed an intact unity closely interrelated. The elements consisted of story facts including plot, character, setting, theme and literary means; title, point of view, style and tone, symbolism and irony. Secondly, there was a personality analysis on Bintoro character using Carl Gustav’s psychological theory divided into two: mental function and mental attitude. Thirdly, there were five internal conflicts taken from the main character, Bintoro: between Bintoro and himself, between Bintoro and Asih, between Bintoro and Joni, between Bintoro and Mrs. Nyamin, and between Bintoro and Rosmi. This research method employed qualitative research, presented descriptively analytically, elaborating data and describing the elements containing personality aspect in order to get more detailed and comprehensive understanding/ The structural analysis in this research had elements closely interrelated. It could build a more interesting literary work. A mental attitude of Bintoro character belonged to extrovert personality on the one hand, but on the other hand, because of something, he also had introvert personality. Internal conflict that Bintoro experienced was a part of personality he had, mental attitude and mental function he had. Keywords: Internal conflict, literary psychology, Carl Gustav Jung
