    Abstract

    Mar'atin Marchamah, 2015. AN INTEGRATED VENDOR-BUYER INVENTORY MODEL WITH IMPERFECT ITEMS, INSPECTION ERRORS, AND DEMAND DISTRIBUTED UNIFORM. Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Sebelas Maret University. An inventory is company's asset used to full fill the demand in certain period.The overage of inventory causes the ordering cost and holding cost increase, while the shortage of inventory causes the shortage cost increases and the number of customers decrease. Therefore, the inventory management is needed in order to gain a lower cost and to keep the company does not lose the customers. The inventory management can be done by creating an inventory model. Recently, the integrated vendor-buyer inventory model get a great deal of attention from many researchers. The cooperation in terms of information exchange and arrange delivery schedules can minimize the total annual cost. The integrated vendor-buyer inventory model considers the defective items and inspection errors. The production process is imperfect and produces a certain number of defective items. Therefore, buyer will 100% inspect the received items. An inspector conduct inspection errors of type I (classifying a non defective item as defective) and type II (classifying a defective item as non defective) during the inspection process. Meanwhile, the demand during lead time is assumed uniformly distributed. The objective of this research is to determine the optimal order quantity and reorder point such that the expected integrated total annual cost of the vendor and the buyer is minimized. The result of this research is the optimal order quantity and reorder point which can minimize the joint total cost. Moreover, A sensitivity analysis of several parameters show that as the transportation cost; the percentage of defective items; the probability of a type I error and type II error decrease, the expected integrated total annual cost of the vendor and the buyer decreases.
