    Abstract

    This study aims to determine the effect of goat manure and mulching on the growth and yield of shallot in the Alfisols. This research was conducted in October 2014 until December 2014, held at the Dryland Research Centre of the Faculty of Agriculture, University Sebelas Maret (UNS), District of Jumantono, Karanganyar Regency. The design of this study using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) using two factors. The first factor with 4 levels, was chemical fertilizer, goat manure 10 ton/ha,goat manure 30 ton/ha and goat manure 50 ton/ha. The second factor with 3 levels, was without mulch, straw mulch and black-silver plastic mulch. The results showed that plant height , number of tillers per plant and number of tillers per plant is influenced by the interaction of fertilizer and mulch. Combination of goat manure 50 ton /ha with straw mulch provides results that are not significantly different from the goat manure of 50 ton / ha with MPHP or chemical fertilizers with all types of mulch in the experiment . While the diameter of the bulb , the fresh weight of bulb perplant , the dry weight of bulb per plant , the fresh weight of bulb per plot and the dry weight of bulb per plot only influenced by fertilizer , the results of goat manure 50 ton / ha gives the best results and is not significantly different chemical fertilizers.
