    Abstract

    Sarifah Hasdaniah. IMPROVED ABILITY TO SPEAK THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF AUDIO VISUAL MEDIA Storytelling WITH CHILDREN IN A GROUP OF NUR HIDAYAH TKIT SURAKARTA ACADEMIC YEAR 2013/2014. Thesis, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education University March Surakarta. June 2013. The purpose of this research is to improve speaking skills through the application of audio-visual media storytelling with the children in group A TKIT Nur Hidayah Surakarta academic year 2013/2014. This study is an action research (PTK). The experiment was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Subjects were children in group A3 TKIT Nur Hidayah Surakarta. Source data comes from teachers and students. The data collection technique is the observation, interviews, tests and documentation. The validity of using triangulation of data sources and triangulation techniques. Analysis of data using interactive model implemented in two cycles. Each cycle includes four stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that through the application of storytelling with audio-visual media can enhance the child's ability to speak of prasiklus to the first cycle and the first cycle to the second cycle. The results show the percentage of pre-action mastery child's ability to speak as much as 5 or 38.5%, the first cycle increased by 7 children, or 53.8%, and the second cycle increased by 11 children or 84.6%. This proves the ability to speak the child has increased each cycle. The conclusions of this research is the application of storytelling through audio-visual media can enhance a child's ability to speak in group A TKIT Nur Hidayah Surakarta in Academic Year 2013/2014.
