    Abstract

    Lately, the gender debates really growing and getting serious attention from expert observers of literature, especially science. Therefore, the need for the development of a gender approach in order to examine a work of literature for further and deeper. This study aimed to describe: (1) the subordination against women in the novel of GJ and MR, (2) stereotypes against women in the novel of GJ and MR (3) violence against women in the novel of GJ and MR, (4) the struggle of subordination against women in the novel of GJ and MR, (5) the struggle of stereotypes against women in the novel of GJ and MR, (6) the struggle of violence against women in the novel of GJ and MR, and (7) the character education value in the novel of GJ and MR. This study used qualitative research. The study approach used the feminism approach. Data collection techniques used non-interactive and interactive techniques.The data validity used source triangulation. The data analysis used interactive analysis. The results of this research includes of: (a) the subordination in the GJ novel consists of 4 data and subordination in the MR novel consist of 3 data, (b) the stereotypes in the GJ novel consists of 3 data and stereotypes in the MR novel consists of 2 data, (3) violence in the Geni Jora novel in the form of physical abuse of 1 data, sexual abuse of 4 data and emotional abuse of 2 Data and violence in the Mata Raisa novel in the form of emotional abuse of 2 data and sexual abuse of 1 data, (c) the struggle against the subordination in the GJ novel consists of 4 data and the struggle against subordination in the MR novel consists of 3 data, (d) the struggle against the women stereotypes in the GJ novel are 2 data, and the struggle against the women stereotypes in the MR novel are 1 data (e) The struggle against violence in the GJ novel, includes of the struggle against physical violence 1 data, sexual abuse of 3 data, and emotional abuse of 4 data and the struggle against violence in the MR novel includes of the struggle against emotional abuse of 1 and sexual abuse of 2 data, and (f) the character education values in the GJ novel, includes of (1) religious, (2) honest, (3) creative, (4) Love to read, (5) friendly / communicative, (6) social care, and (7) curiosity. The character education values in the MR novel includes of (1) religious, (2) honest, (3) creative, (4) Love to read, (5) friendly / communicative, (6) social care, (7) curiosity, and (8) hard work.
