    Abstract

    The occurrence of extraordinary events of dengue fever (DF) in 2013 at Karanganyar is a health problem. Because of that, it is necessary to make research about DF in order to anticipate that. The purpose of this research is to map the dengue fever risk zone in Karanganyar. The advantage of kernel density estimation is able to calculate the density of DF patients according to bandwidth. The value of kernel density estimation are influenced by the type of kernel function and the optimum bandwidth. The function that used is Gaussian kernel. The data used in this research is the number of DF patients in each sub district of Karanganyar per month from 2010 to 2013 that obtained from the Department of Health Karanganyar. Based on the coordinates of the location of each district, it can be calculated optimum bandwidth. Then the value of the kernel density estimation of each sub-district were calculated using the optimum bandwidth. The value of the kernel density estimation of each sub-district are multiplied with total patients to calculate the total of kernel density estimation in each month. Total of kernel density estimation are used to create risk zone map in each month. There are three risk classes, low, moderate and high. Based on the kernel density estimation, from 2010 until 2013 years, Colomadu is high risk sub-district, Gondangrejo and Jaten are moderate risk and the others are low risk.
