    Abstract

    This research aims to understand the investigation process of child with mediation as a form of diversion according to law No. 11 of 2012 on the Criminal Justice System of Child. Research method used in this research is empirical study in which the data sources of the data used are primary data and secondary data, qualitative data analysis techniques and descriptive patterns of thinking. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that the diversion process begins when the status of the children that has a problem with law increased to be a suspect, so that the diversion is conducted at the level of investigation that begins with mediation, The Research Institute of Correctional Institution provides a recommendation about the diversion, when The Correctional Institution recommends to conduct the diversion, the diversion is conducted by inviting relatives, family of the victim, the community figure. The Correctional Institution is a guide of the community and police investigator is an executor of the diversion itself. The diversion to a child named Oktavian was conducted in accordance with the order and law No. 11 of 2012 on the Criminal Justice System of Child.
