Abstract
Palm fiber can be used as an alternative brake friction material motorcycle. In this study, the composition of palm fiber 55%, brass powder 15%, MgO 20% and 10% resin has a hardness value that most closely comparable with the brake that is equal to 19.5 HBN. In specimens brake fibers 4 with 25% fiber composition, brass powder 45%, MgO 20% and 10% resin has a value of the wear that comes closest to the comparator has a brake that is equal to 0.087 x 10-7 mm2/kg. By varying the composition will get wear and hardness values of the most optimum. Variations in the composition of palm fiber very influential on the the value of the wear and hardness values of specimens brake..
