Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyzed statically the chassis frame structure of three wheeled vehicle. The structure of this vehicle have two frames that made separately and connected by pivot joint which the front frame held one wheel while the rear frame held a pair of wheels. Chassis frame structure was modeled in 3D CAD to be simulated and analyzed the strength and stiffness with a maximum stress, safety factor, and deformation as a result so that the failure of load or impact from the front, rear, and vertical loading can be known. The result showed that the strength and the stiffnes of chassis frame structure which had been analyzed has increased after redesign. The structure of the chassis no longer fail with a safety factor at 1,78 in the front impact case with a maximum stress at 349,7 MPa and a deformation at 6,19 mm, 2,73 in the rear impact case with a maximum stress at 260,2 MPa and a deformation at 17,9 mm, and 3,35 in vertical loading case with a maximum stress at 211,89 MPa and a deformation at 5 mm.
