    Abstract

    The aims of this study were to determine the effect of the using guided inquiry and modified free inquiry, mathematical ability, scientific attitude, and it’s interaction toward student’s achievements learning. The method used in this research was quasi experimental method and it was conducted from December 2012 to July 2013. The population was the students in 11 th Science Grade SMA N 3 Cilacap in Academic Year of 2012/2013 Semester II. The samples were taken using cluster random sampling, consisted of two class XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 2. The learning applied to XI IPA 1 was guided inquiry and to XI IPA 2 was modified free inquiry. The data were collected using tests for student’s cognitive learning achievement, mathematical ability, and scientific attitude, questioner for measuring affective achievements, and observation sheet for assessing psychomotor. The hypotheses were tested using Anova 2x2x2. From the data analysis, it’s could be concluded that : 1) there was an effect of learning guided inquiry and modified free inquiry for cognitive, affective, and psychomotor; 2) there was an effect mathematical ability for cognitive, affective, and psychomotor; 3) there was no effect scientific attitude for cognitive, affective, and psychomotor; 4) there was no interaction between learning guided inquiry and modified free inquiry with mathematical ability for cognitive, affective, and psychomotor; 5) there was no interaction between learning learning guided inquiry and modified free inquiry with scientific attitude for cognitive and affective, but there was interaction for psychomotor; 6) there was no interaction between mathematical ability and scientific attitude for cognitive, affective, and psychomotor; 7) there were interaction among learning guided inquiry and modified free inquiry, mathematical ability, and scientific attitude for cognitive, but there were no interaction for affective and psychomotor.
