    Abstract

    Background : Carrots contain substances that can be used as antihelmintik, quercetin. Quercetin is a group of flavonoid glycosides. This research aims to know the influence of extracts of carrot (Daucus carota, Linn.) against the death worm Ascaris suum, Goeze In Vitro. Methods : This research is laboratoric experimental research with the post test only controlled group as the research design. The subject of research is the worm Ascaris suum, Goeze that life and still active moves. Sampling technique used convenience sampling. The subject is divided into 4 groups, each group consists of 4 worms, replication was done four times. Positive control group using pirantel pamoat 5 mg/ml, negative control group using physiological saline and the other side group of treatment consists of extracts of carrot (Daucus carota, Linn) with a concentration of 70%, 75%, 80%, 85% and 90%. The worm was soaked in a solution of test as many as 25 ml and incubated at a temperature of 370 C. The observation was done every 1 hour until all of the worms to die. Data was analyzed with Pearson correlation and linear regression test. Results : Results of Pearson correlation obtained probability value is 0.000 less than 0.05 which means that there is a significant correlation between the concentration variables with variable time of death worm. Correlation coefficient with variable concentrations of old death worm = -0.960, which shows the direction of the correlation is negative, it implies the higher the concentration, the faster the time of death of the worms. Results of linear regression analysis showed that the R Square of 0.921, which means that the effect of the concentration variable to variable time of death worms 92.1% while 7.9% is influenced by other variables in addition to variable concentrations. The linear regression equation y = 53.775-.609 X. Conclusion : Based on this study it can be concluded that the extract of carrot (Daucus carota, Linn) has the effect of accelerating the time of death of Ascaris suum, Gooze In Vitro.
