    Abstract

    The role of mass media in disseminating information is huge . In Indonesia or internet -based news media often known by very many news portal , one of which is Kompas.com .. In the last few months , Kompas.com focus preach election Jakarta . At election time , there are a figure of a leader from the town of Surakarta participating candidates running for governor . He is Jokowi , a leader who is known to have different properties , namely anti- corruption , friendly , and side to people . Also Jokowi often attached with media darling . Therefore, through this study, researchers intend to find out how the national media , which all resemble Kompas.com news about Jokowi during the election campaign until the end of DKI Jakarta . Remember at the time not many people know the figure Jokowi Jakarta . This research uses descriptive quantitative method . The sample in this study using systematic random sampling technique ie systematic sampling for 4 months starting on 15 July to 15 October 2012 with a content analysis method . The analysis used is cross-tabulation to see the relationship between the variables . In this study it is concluded that, overall , the results of the analysis show that : Kompas.com packed news about Jokowi 54.78 % favorable toward neutral, 34.27 % , 10.96 % unfavorable . Headlines that used Kompas.com recorded explicitly include the name Jokowi 91.01 % , and 8.99 % implicitly . Kompas.com news sources used are divided into five categories , olitisi 37.64 % , 19.94 % journalists in the field , information centers 37.08 % , 3.09% press conference , a pressure group 2.25 % . Based on the type of news that used Kompas.com , recorded 74.44 % hard news , soft news , and 25.56 % . From the above findings it can be concluded that more resemble Kompas.com news about Jokowi with positive news . Jokowi name has become a brand used Kompas.com on the news . it can be seen that Kompas.com often include the name in the headline Jokowi explicitly .
