    Abstract

    This research aims to determine the effectiveness of game technique to improve the expressing opinion’s ability of the fourth grade student at SDN Prawit I No. 69 Surakarta academic year 2012/ 2013. This research is action research in guidance and counseling. It was conducted into two cycles, each cycle consists of planning, action, observation and reflection. The subjects of this research are five students of fourth grade at SDN Prawit I No. 69 Surakarta. Data resource comes from the students and the teacher. Techniques of collecting data are observation and interview. The data validation uses data triangulation technique. Data analysis uses percentage analysis technique and clinical analysis. Research procedure is Kemmis and Mc Taggart’s model. The used action in this research is game technique collaborating with the teacher. The conduction of the action is implemented in cycle I and cycle II. This study shows that game technique can improve the expressing opinion’s ability starting from pre-action into action cycle I and action cycle II. The enhancement in the cycle I is 44,76% but it has not been significant yet because it also has not fulfilled the appointed successfulness indicator. The significant enhancement happens on the cycle II which has 74,70% because it has reached the appointed successfulness indicator which has 50%. This study concludes that the application of game technique is effective to improve the expressing opinion’s ability of the student of fourth grade at SDN Prawit I No. 69 Surakarta academic year 2012/ 2013.
