    Abstract

    Jalak Gading (Turdus poliocephalus stresemanni Bartels.) is an endemic bird species in Lawu. Population is likely to decline due to habitat destruction and poaching. The study of the plant as feed resources needs to be done as the Jalak Gading early stages of conservation efforts.This study aims to obtain data species, distribution and abundance, and nutrient content of plant which is used as a source of feed by Jalak Gading in Mount Lawu.. The data of feed plant species were obtained with cruising method, the data of distribution and abundance were obtained with squares method, and the data of nutrient content were obtained with the proximate test. The species data of feed plant were analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The data of distribution, abundance and nutrient content were analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The results of this research obtained 9 feed plants species of Jalak Gading included 5 famili. One species include the herb Polygonum chinense, 5 species includes the shrubs Rubus fraxinifolius, Rubus linaetus, Rubus niveus, Rubus chrysophyllus and Debregesia longifolia, and 3 species includes trees Vaccinium varingiaefolium, Photinia integrifolia, and Myrsine avenis. Edible parts are the ripe fruit. All species of feed plant has clustered distribution pattern and each distributed at intervals of different elevation. Only Polygonum chinense are distributed throughout the observation station and has the highest individual abundance. Ripe fruit of feed plants contains 73,73 % of carbohydrates, 1,11 % of ash, 1,72 % of fat, 1,76 % protein, 18,21 % water dan 109,18 kcal of energy. Populasinya cenderung menurun karena kerusakan habitat dan perburuan liar. Studi mengenai keragaman tumbuhan pakan Jalak Gading perlu dilakukan sebagai tahap awal upaya konservasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui spesies, distribusi dan kemelimpahan, serta kandungan nutrisi tumbuhan pakan burung Jalak Gading di Gunung Lawu. Data spesies tumbuhan pakan diperoleh dengan metode jalajah, sedangkan data distribusi dan kemelimpahan diperoleh dengan metode kuadrat, dan data kandungan nutrisi diperoleh dengan uji proksimat. Data spesies tumbuhan pakan dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Data distribusi, kemelimpahan dan kandungan nutrisi dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh 9 spesies tumbuhan pakan Jalak Gading yang termasuk dalam 5 famili. Satu spesies termasuk herba yakni Polygonum chinense, 5 spesies termasuk perdu yakni Rubus fraxinifolius, Rubus linaetus, Rubus niveus, Rubus chrysophyllus dan Debregesia longifolia, dan 3 spesies termasuk pohon yakni Vaccinium varingiaefolium, Photinia integrifolia, dan Myrsine avenis. Bagian tumbuhan yang dimakan adalah buah masak. Semua spesies tumbuhan pakan memiliki pola distribusi berkelompok dan masing-masing terdistribusi pada interval elevasi yang berbeda. Hanya P. chinense yang terdistribusi ke seluruh stasiun pengamatan dan memiliki kemelimpahan individu tertinggi. Buah masak tumbuhan pakan rata-rata mengandung karbohidrat sebesar 73,73 %, abu 1,11 %, lemak 1,72 %, protein 1,76 %, air 18,21 % dan energi 109,18 kkal.
