    Abstract

    The objectives of this paper is to examine the inigact of psychograpliic characteristics of investors to their investment behavior. We divide psyc ographic characteristics of investor based on degree of risk taking, long term perspective in investment and safety purpose of investment, then it will determines the investor behavior in form of the choice of investment products and how active investors in financial markets. A questionnaire survey was conducted and responses were obtained fioni 103 investors in Indonesia. Using ordinary least square, we find that investors with strong risk taking tend to invest frequently and choose to invest high risk investment product. Conversely, safety investors tend to invest in low risk and rarely transact. But we do not find the relationship between long term perspective character and trading frequency or choice of investment product.
