    Abstract

    This stuafv attempts to explore television talkshow viewing i.e its exposure and efects on audience. A survey (in- tercept rnall survey) with I25 respondents was undertaken in the City of Surakorta just six weeks afier the election day of the 2009 lndonesias legislative election. The study suggests that respondents mostly watched talkshow television three times a week and thought moderately that talkshow television is interesting enough seen both from presenters as well as speakers 'perjbrmance and skill. Further; this stuajv also suggests that the cognitive eflect tie the increase oflmowledge on political parties ‘vision-mission becomes apparently the major 42¢: followed by the increase knowledge on candidates performance. Tollcshow viewing moderately aflects respondents 'preference of political party and/or candidate (in term ofaflective influence) and aflects moderately as well on respondents behavior primarily in deliberating which political party and/or candidate should be supported.
