    Abstract

    Maulana Kafa Intifada. THE USING BRIDGING ANALOGY IN PHYSICS LEARNING OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL. Skripsi, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Sebelas Maret University. July 2013. The purpose of this study was to analyze the bridging analogy approach be able to reduce misconceptions in senior high school student in the concept of temperature and heat. This research used descriptive method. The population was SMK Bina Dhirgantara, Colomadu, Karanganyar, class XI APB 1, XI APB 2, and XI APR. total sample consisted of 77 students. Research data about student misconceptions profile of temperature and heat concept was obtained from diagnostic test about a misconceptions organized as identification test instrument, using objective test with specified reasons, then the data analyzed by descriptive statistics. The number of 1 reduction of misconceptions can be determined by comparing the profile of misconceptions after an before bridging analogy applied. Data obtained from misconceptions test identifications compared by asking some student of each class by 10% of all samples taken. From the data analysis and discussion can be concluded that the students have misconceptions. The percentage of misconceptions of students before bridging analogy applied: 1) definition temperature and heat 37.52%; 2) section were of thermal properties of a material by 41.13%; 3) section of heat transfer section 39.70%. The results of the interview before the application of bridging analogy was suggested that students have a tendency to experience the misconceptions. While the percentage of student misconception after bridging analogy applied as follows: 1) temperature and heat section is 30.01%; 2) thermal properties of a material is 39.83%; 3) heat transfer section 29.69%. The number of the reduction resulting from the bridging analogy for each sub concept was as follows: 1) definition of the temperature and heat is 7.50%; 2) the thermal properties of a material section is 1.30%; 3) heat transfer section is 10,02%. Interviews were conducted after bridging analogy applied show that the students understand the concepts. Keywords: bridging analogy, the concept of temperature and heat, misconceptions
