    Abstract

    Sambiloto plants (Andrographis paniculata Nees.) has various types of benefit, one of them is antibacterial Staphylococcus aureus. The use of it as antibacterial in the form of extract is not practice enough, therefore as other alternative it is made in the form of gel. The aim of this research is to make sambiloto antiseptic gel with several of extract concentration and to do stability test of antiseptic gel physical and chemical characteristic. Variations of sambiloto leave ethanol extract used are 10%, 11%, and 12%. Ethanol extract of sambiloto leave is made used sokhletasi method with ethanol 96% dissolved. In every formula was done organoleptis and stabilities test, physic and chemical characteristic including pH, viscosity and spread effort got from the test using statistical test Kolmogorov-Smirnov continued by One Way ANOVA. Based on the result, it shows that the higher of sambiloto extract concentration the more gel viscosited got, it could be seen from 3 formulas (concentration of andrographis extract 12%) has the highest viscosity. While for pH the higher concentration will increase pH. But for spread effort the higher sambiloto extract concentration will reduce the value of spread effort. Based on test using Kolmogorov-Smirnov continued by One Way ANOVA showed that sambiloto extract concentration will influence significantly toward gel stability. Based on irritation test, gel were not causeirritation when it is applicated on the skin therefore it is safe to be used.
